HOSC holds lectures over course of two weeks




December 19th-30th, 2005, The HOSC has held a series of lectures on the Olympics in Classroom 3101 in Renmin University. The lectures are designed specifically for the freshmen class of 2005. Assistant Professor Zheng Xiaojiu of the HOSC, Yi Na, Hu Na, and Mark Zeng gave students a detailed introduction of Olympic History, Olympic Culture, Olympic Spirit, Beijing 2008 and the recruitment of volunteers for 2008 Olympic Games. This week-long effort received excellent feed-back and appreciation from the students. They believed that from the lectures they gained a more impressive knowledge of Olympic History, Olympic Spirit, preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games and volunteer training. They also expressed their wish to study harder and expand their knowledge so as to qualify as a volunteer for 2008 Olympic and make their own contribution to the Beijing Olympic.


 


The lecture series will continue this week. We welcome the involvement of all students.




Eracom interviews Pro. Jin Yuanpu



On the morning of Dec.21th, director of HOSC, Prof. Yuanpu Jin received the interview of Taiwan Eracom TV. During the interview, Jin answered many questions about the establishment of Olympic Library and Book Center. He introduced the procedure of OLBC establishment, support  and help from the governors and leaders. Following this, he gave a brief introduction to the research of HOSC and some future projects in 2006 for HOSC.


Olympic Library and Book Center will be based on the library of RUC and integrated and managed by HOSC of RUC. The build of the center means that many precious books and references will have their “home” and that there will be a special center to restores these knowledge heritages. It also marked the beginning of attention of citizens to post-Olympic problems.


After knowing the build of HLBC, Philippe BLANCHARD, Director of Information Management Center of IOC sent congratulation fax to HOSC, and will donate many books, films and references of IOC. Director of Information Center of BOCOG, Jiazhen He donated precious books to HOSC.


At last, Prof. Jin expressed his thanks to the support of Taiwan Eracom TV and hoped that HOSC would held a steady coordinate relationship with Taiwan Eracom.
